Sometimes you’ve got to admire people for their sheer will. And one of those is Eric Barone, a 53 year-old Frenchman and ex-stunt double who holds the world speed record on a bike, on both snow and gravel.
He’s been clocked at 138 mph on snow on Les Arcs in Savoie, France and 107 mph on gravel on the Cerro Negro Volcano in Nicaragua.
The bikes he uses are prototypes and highly modified. He also wears a sculpted foam suit and bullet-shaped casing over his already helmeted-head to make him even more aero. The suit has undergone some modifications with the original having a camo tree print.
You look at the guy and you can see he’s not a spring chicken so it’s all the more admirable that he does the crazy ass shit that he does.
Oh, and by the way, when you watch the video, turn up the volume. Absolutely amazing.
